This unique midcentury sideboard, made from solid oak entirely covered by real tortoise shells fully varnished, was made in Milano by a small design studio called Ottini in 1973. Ottini were making pieces of furniture to order for renown architects and interior designers using only high end materials such as goatskin parchment, python, crocodile, and tortoise shells. The color palette and details of the tortoise shells patchwork is just astonishing. The design itself is typical of Italian midcentury, rounded shapes, remembering Willy Rizzo for Mario Sabot design. A truly unique piece, extremely rare, found in a great vintage condition
