Description
Two decorative ceramic plates or vide-poches by ceramicist Georges Pelletier, France 1960s.
Both pieces are hand-made ceramic, with attractive designs in shades of blue. The larger plate is of delicate tones of pale blue and grey with rich gold lustre, and a glossy finish; it is unusual to see these pieces in this size. The smaller piece is of deeper tones edged in copper lustre, with lines of gold and copper detail and a matte finish. Both pieces are in good vintage condition, with signs of surface wear in line with age and use, including light crazing to the finishing glaze, as often seen on these pieces. Signature and small hanging hook to the reverse.
