Line etched glass "Kantarelli" vase by Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala. Unique mouth blown and hand line etched object made at Iittala Oy, Finland during the 1950s. Part of the "Kantarelli" series that by Tapio Wirkkala originally designed in 1946. From this collection we offer the full range in our inventory. A unique collection that we represent from a large glass collector. The 'Kantarelli' series takes its name and shape from the chanterelle mushroom. It is one of the greater pieces of Scandinavian design that won the prestigious Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale exhibition in 1951. This is the largest size from the series, measuring: H: 20 x 19 cm. Object is signed to underside "Tapio Wirkkala, Iittala" There is no year indicated, Iittala made some un-numbered / dated runs.
