Description
An early production 'Bauche' chairs No 19 Charlotte Perriand edited by Steph Simon, 1950s. Probably 1952 1952-1968 Ash, straw. Each: 82.3 x 42 x 46.3 cm manufactured by L’Équipement de la Maison, Grenoble or Bureau de Coordination du Batiment, Paris, France. Charlotte Perriand created this model with an inclined back in 1939 under the number 19. Whereas model number 18 has a straight back. Perriand’s aesthetic vision constantly evolved, moving from the tubular steel furniture to more naturalism. These chairs are an example of this style. The frame is functional, with double slats that connect the legs with each other. The legs are cylindrical shaped and tapered towards the ground.
