Dorian Caffot de Fawes is a London-based French antique dealer who sources mainly lighting, furniture, exquisite objects and pictures.Born in Paris, Dorian grew up in the Pays Basque and studied Art History in Bordeaux before moving to London in 2008. After being trained at Sotheby's in Bond Street, he worked for seven years for a well-known antique lighting dealer in Chelsea before setting up his own business on the Lillie Road.
Dorian's carefully-selected stock tends to focus on the first half of the 20th Century (Belle époque, Art Deco, Modernism and 1950s), but can sometimes dates as early as the 18th century, making sure each item combines powerful decorative value, great craftsmanship and sensible price. By mixing styles and periods, Dorian’s relaxed approach to antiques offers an interesting selection of elegant, unusual and sometimes quirky furnishing and decorative arts to today's collectors and interior designers, both in the UK and internationally.
As a young collector who understands the value of antiques and goes extra miles to inspire the interior design community, Dorian’s work aligns with the ethos of Kairos to a large degree. With his discerning eyes and deep knowledge in art and design history, we can easily imagine the alluring pieces he sources in an antiques museum.
