Description

35 American painters, sculptors, and architects discuss their work and one another with Selden Rodman, drawing together several golden ages of American creativity, with figures such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Edward Hopper and Alexander Calder to Jackson Pollock and Franz Kline.  The conversations create a colourful picture of the ‘50s American art world from the perspective of the artist, with surprising opinions, cutting remarks and a bunch of luxurious houses.

First edition, hardback, published by the Devin-Adair Co., 1957.

Condition: Fine in near fine dust jacket. Slight marks to a very clean and bright dust jacket. Very rarely found in this hardcover first edition, especially with a clean dust jacket.
