Melanie Pullen, High Fashion Crime Scenes

First edition, published by Nazraeli Press, 2005. This book comprises of hauntingly staged photographs based upon actual crime scene photographs taken from the Los Angeles Police Department. The models are dressed in contemporary fashion, either whilst laying or hanging deceased, yet maintain an artistic rather than fashion centric outcome. Pullen claims "each picture has some sort of story and you have to be able to figure it out." Having forged her own individual style, Cullen’s work has been exhibited extensively around the world. This book features over a hundred full page glossy reproductions of her photographs.
