Brutalist Sconce by Tom Ahlström & Hans Ehrich in the late 1960s to early 1970s - Scandinavian Mid- century modern wall lamp with metal and glass, all in excellent vintage condition.
Magnificent, impressive and gorgeous sconce, comprised of a glass center piece and a large metal base, that is mounted on the wall. The center piece is made up of clear glass rods with amber colored pattern inside, layered and arranged in an asymmetrical rectangular design, which is attached to the metal base by two screws. The large base features a rectangular shaped shallow metal box from where 6 metal shells extend above and below it, and two shells covers the sides. Inside the middle piece sits the bulb socket, and due to shells, all light is emitted through the glass center piece.
When lit, the amber colored pattern inside the glass rods adds warmth to the ambiance, while the metal shells create a beautiful pattern of the light on the surrounding wall. With its organic oval shape, the almost silver colored metal and the thick glass piece in the middle, it would be a stunning statement piece in the living room or hallway or emphasize a Brutalist style in the kitchen, stairway or even bedroom.
Beautiful wall lamp with a very stylish expression, and it is in excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of usage and age. No chips or cracks in the glass rods.
