Description
During the early 1930s, Bruno Mathsson studied "sitting mechanics", among other things by sitting in a snowdrift and then studying the imprint his body made in the snow. The work had in 1933 led to a series of chairs, work, reclining and reclining chair Model 36, which he had the opportunity to show to the public at his debut exhibition in 1936. The work chair was further developed, provided with armrests and got its final shape in 1941 then also a variant with high back and pillow were launched. That chair was further developed in turn and in 1948 got its final shape as the upper part of the back was angled slightly forward. It is sold thereafter, and today, under the name 'Eva Hög'. Offered here, and available is a pair (2), with original upholstery in braided vinyl canvas webbing and a birch and beech bent wooden frame. If desired we offer custom re-upholstery in canvas or leather of choice. Priced individually. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damages. Chairs show staining and odor on the canvas at the back of the seats caused by moisture (see photos). The ends of the legs show discolouration (see photos). Furthermore chairs are in good original condition. Re-upholstery recommended and offered.
