French Louis XV Pair of Ormolu Wall Lights / Sconces after Caffieri

Of superb quality, this pair of rare mid-18th century Louis XV gilt ormolu wall appliqués cast in bronze with superb detailing. Each with two Rococo arms of sinuous design and of exceptional proportion. This design is very much in the manner of Caffieri, the superb chasing and balance between matte and burnished gold together with form and fluidity are directly relevant to his masterpieces of the same period.
