Description
First edition, published by Éditions Cercle d'Art, Paris, 1954.
War and Peace, La Guerre et la Paix is a very scarce and desirable Picasso monograph, only printed in 1954 and reprinted in 1997. The book contains a text in French by Claude Roy, and many black and white reproductions of Picasso's drawings. In addition to this, there are six colour lithographs printed by Mourlot. This book is very rarely found in this condition, with the original red paper sleeve and acetate covering.
Condition: Canvas covered boards and original paper title wrapper are in fine condition. The original acetate covering is in near fine condition, with a chip in the spine area, and on the back. All the inner pages are in fine condition, with the original protective paper sheets between prints. Overall fine condition, exceptional condition in comparison to other copies of the book we have seen.
