Description
Wonderful set of six 'British Ferns' by Francis George Heath.
Each chromolithograph is mounted within a beautifully carved Italian frame that supports a UV glass plate. The UV glass creates extra protection against daylight and cuts reflection so that the image quality is a lot stronger.
Francis George Heath was a surveyor of the customs within the 'Outdoor Department'. Today, Heath is known as a pioneer of movements within the outdoors because of how he dedicated many years of his life, improving London's green spaces.
In 1885, Heath released his book "The Fern World" which included engraved plates that represented rare and unusual ferns throughout Britain.
This collection of chromolithographs are a wonderful way of bringing Francis George Heath's discoveries, alongside the natural world, into your interior.
