A large and impressive brutalist bronze door handle with matching letterbox cover and escutcheon or keyhole plate. European, mid-20th century (1960s / 1970s).

The handle is heavily textured and appears to have been cast from part of a tree - possibly silver birch bark, with its characteristic horizontal lines - and has a very nice dark patina. The items in this set have been left as found, unpolished; they each show differing tones from various areas of use over time. The handle bracket is attached to the plate by two screws on the reverse. The handle can be fitted to the door using two long bolts (not supplied) as suit the thickness of your door and the weight of the metal.

- Main plate of the handle is H 19.5cm x W 14cm.
- The depth from the face of the door to the front face of the handle is approximately 8 cm.
- L 29.4cm x W 7.2cm x D 2cm (approx)
Keyhole plate:
- H 5.5cm x W 5.5cm x D 01cm
- Diameter of keyhole 32mm (designed to fit a cylinder lock such as Yale or similar)

We also have a very unusual double bell push from the same set, which will require grinding and re-engraving for future use. If this piece would be of interest please drop us a note.
