A large and exquisite hand blown pendant using the highly skilled reticello technique. Reticello involves the merging of two glass cane bubbles (one inside the other) in which the straight canes are twisted in opposite directions. Once merged, the opposing twisted canes cross each other creating a net like pattern. The pendant is suspended from the ceiling with architectural wire leaving the opening is offset. This allows the bulb holder which clasps between the opening to be set at an angle casting light in a spectacular spiral pattern across nearby walls.Although we have as yet no documentation this piece is certainly of the standard of and could quite possibly be a Venini production. The lamp is in an excellent original condition with only a couple of nibble to the glass where the holder clasps to the globe. We have the original metal domed ceiling rose which allows for both the suspension cable and electrical feed.
