1853 Swedish Chest Blanket Box Original Polychromatic Jamtland Paint Finish Blue

Extremely rare antique Swedish country Gustavian blanket box chest in the original hand painted polychromatic finish in the Jamtland style dated 1851. Beautiful light blues, darker blues, reds and ochres with hand painted flower wreaths and the original iron lock and key. (lock is not working) The chest has some wood movement/splitting to it as you would expect of a piece of this age and is structurally sound. One of the metal bands has bent slightly as shown in the photograph It has an amazing amount of painted detail to it and is made from rough hewn pine. lovely piece.
